Welcome to
Renegade Art Glass!

Renegade Art Glass is a family-run studio led by Karla Rodgers.  We work in fused and stained glass, creating unique art for homes and businesses.  We make a wide variety of glass art pieces, from small bowls, to very large windows.  We also provide custom design and other services to our customers.

We regularly update our page, events and gallery, so please check back often.   If you are in the Shenandoah Valley area, we’d love to have you visit our Lexington, Virginia studio and gallery to see many fused glass products or work with us on a custom stained glass project.     If you have questions, please don’t hesitate to send us an email or give us a call.  Thanks for visiting us!

"Force Field" - A new cooperative project by Karla, Jonathan Rodgers and Kaia Harbor. This rectangular tray was created with many thin strips of glass laid on edge in the kiln. The glass was heated to over 1500 degrees F and then the glass was "raked" to form the striking flow patterns. Let us know what you think of this piece! (3 photos) ... See MoreSee Less

Want to try a new art technique? We will be holding our first ever "Painting with Glass" class in March. In this class you'll learn the basics of “Frit Painting” in which artists use powdered glass (called “frit”) to create images which are then kiln-fired to produce wonderful solid glass “paintings.”

The class will be taught by Karla Rodgers and Sara MacFarland. It will be held on 3/8/2014 at 10:30 am (2.5 hours) with a followup session on Tuesday 3/11/2014 at 6:00 pm (1.5 hours). For more information see our Painting with Glass page at renegadeartglass.com/techniques/frit-painting.

We hope you'll come learn this fascinating art with us! (2 photos)

Paige MacfarlandWow, that is some special talent? Does she take custom orders?3 months ago

Renegade Art GlassShe told me about you and I knew you had that one. It is my favorite but Sarge is a really close second. She has come a long way in a year and is now teaching us how to do frit painting. She has a special gift for breaking down components of a picture and rebuilding them in glass. So grateful to have her in the studio every week.3 months ago
